Web design & development
Genius Digital Labs designs and builds websites for UK operators who need to look sharper than their larger competitors. We work design-system first and ship statically generated pages with effectively no client JavaScript. Our most recent rebuild took a client from a mobile Lighthouse score of 21 to 96, on a live homepage, measured and dated on the case study.
We lock a palette and a type ramp before building a single page, so the brand cannot drift as the site grows. That discipline is what lets an independent look more considered than a national, rather than cheaper.
The prohibition matters as much as the brief. No default card grids, no purple gradients, no everything-centred layouts, no generic stock-photo hero. If a site looks like it was generated, it signals that nobody made a decision.
The evidence.
Questions.
- How long does a site take?
- A focused marketing site is typically three to six weeks from brief to live. A large multi-brand estate takes longer. The FJL rebuild went from first commit to live in under a week, but that was a deliberate sprint with content already decided.
- Will we be able to edit it ourselves?
- That depends on what you actually need. If you publish weekly, we will fit a CMS. If you change copy a few times a year, a CMS adds cost and fragility for very little benefit and we will say so.
- What happens to our Google rankings when we rebuild?
- We map every existing URL to a redirect target before launch. Losing historic URLs is the single most common cause of a rebuilt site losing half its traffic, and it is entirely avoidable.
- Do you host it?
- Sites are deployed on Vercel and the project lives in a repository you own. There is no lock-in and no hosting margin buried in a retainer.
