JG Pest Control
Case study

JG Pest Control / The AI sales desk that never closes

The sales desk that never closes.

Genius Digital Labs and PestArc built JG Pest Control a production sales desk of fourteen AI agents across web chat, email, SMS, voice, WhatsApp, portal and Google Local Services. In its first 58 days, the system handled 16,971 real customer conversations and booked £416,151 of work excluding VAT, including 338 jobs outside office hours. Every figure on this page covers that eight-week window, 30 May to 26 July 2026, not a year.

01 The problem

Pest emergencies keep arriving after the office shuts.

Every unanswered hour was paid demand going cold.

JG Pest Control Group operates a family of consumer brands across the UK. Demand arrives like an emergency: a wasp nest on Sunday night, rats in the loft before dawn. The human sales desk kept office hours, but its web forms, Local Services inboxes and phone lines did not.

A pest lead is perishable. Someone who cannot get an answer rings the next company on the list. Genius Digital Labs was asked to close that gap without hiring a night shift, and without letting software quote a price it could not honour or book a van that was not free.

Every hour the office is shut is an hour the phone still rings.

02 The approach

One operating engine, adapted to every brand and channel.

Many faces. One version of the truth.

Every customer-facing agent uses the same conversation engine, pricing brain and booking tools. The name, brand, tone and phone number change. The underlying rules do not. A price quoted on WhatsApp is the price quoted on the website, and one rule change reaches the whole estate.

The agents act rather than recite. They can look up a postcode, price a job, check the diary, send a booking form, create a payment link, convert an enquiry into a live order, raise a ticket and escalate to a person.

  • Prices drawn from the group's own price list and postcode multipliers
  • Discounts capped in code at ten per cent, with a hard floor underneath
  • Complex heat treatments, commercial work and unusual cases handed to specialists
  • Independent kill switches for conversion, discounting, payment chasing and outbound work

03 The estate

Nine agents live. Five earning their way through staged rollout.

Fourteen colleagues built around the customer journey.

Claire qualifies, quotes, books and takes payment on the JG website. Daisy does the same for The Pest Control Co with that brand's own voice and prices. Jaime works inbound email leads, Zainab handles after-care, and Aimee, Craig and Alistair recover missed callers without pretending to be the same person.

Faith fronts three single-pest brands and Paige handles PestGone. Voice agents Maisey and Hailey, WhatsApp agents Abigail and Aiden, and Google Local Services agent Daimon sit behind allow-lists, test gates and sign-off controls until each is ready for wider use.

  • Web chat agents for JG Pest Control, The Pest Control Co, PestGone, Ace and three single-pest brands
  • Email, portal and SMS agents for new enquiries, missed calls and after-care
  • Voice agents trained and audited before taking unrestricted calls
  • WhatsApp and Google Local Services agents held behind staged release controls

04 Watch them work

Two channels, one engine, the same evening.

Both of these happened on Monday 27 July.

On the left, Claire takes a wasp job on the website at 17:33 and books it for the next morning. On the right, Abigail quotes a three-room bed bug treatment on WhatsApp at 22:50, long after the office shut.

Hello, you are speaking to Claire at JG Pest Control, how can I help? If you can tell me about your pest issue and your postcode I can let you know what we can do for you.

[postcode] wasp nest

Wasps are a nightmare, you've come to the right place though. Great news, we cover Glasgow every day. Our technician locates and treats the nest directly, applying a professional insecticide into the entry point - activity drops within hours and the wasps are gone within 24 to 48 hours. Usually just the one visit needed. And it's fully guaranteed - if there's still activity after 7 days, we come back at no extra cost within the 3-week guarantee period. The price for a guaranteed eradication of your wasps is £149.99 + VAT. We can get someone out to you tomorrow (Tuesday 28th July) or the day after - when suits you best?

can you come out tomorrow?

Absolutely - let me get the booking sorted for you. Can I just grab a name and email so I can get your confirmation over to you?

That would be great

Let me get the booking form up for you now. Pop your details and address in there and we'll get you all booked in for Tuesday 28th July 2026.

Hi, I'd like some help with a pest problem

Hi, Abigail here at JG Pest Control - what's the pest and whereabouts are you? (postcode's easiest)

Suspected bedbugs, Hackney

Sorry to hear that - bed bugs are a nightmare but we deal with them all the time. Whereabouts in Hackney? Postcode when you get a chance.

[postcode]

Before I get you a price, I'll need a quick room count - how many bedrooms do you have, and is there a living room?

2 bedrooms and 1 living room

So that's 3 rooms in total - noted. Can I grab your name and email so I can get your quote over to you?

[name and email address]

Two options for you: Heat treatment - our premium service, one full day and the bed bugs are completely gone, eggs and all, guaranteed. £1,419.99 + VAT. Or chemical spray - professional insecticide, still fully guaranteed for 4 months, we come back free if there's any activity. £349.99 + VAT. Heat is the gold standard (done in a single visit, no lingering bites), but both are covered by our guarantee. Which sounds better for you?

How many visits is the chemical spray?

We aim to sort it in a single visit. If you're still seeing activity after four weeks, we come back for a follow-up at no extra cost - you're covered by the 4-month guarantee. We only re-treat where it's genuinely needed. Which way are you leaning?

Real conversations from Monday 27 July 2026, replayed at the pace they happened. Names, emails, phone numbers and postcodes removed; the name-and-email exchange trimmed. The wasp job became a confirmed order the same evening.

05 The night shift

Real bookings from midnight to midnight.

Somebody booked a rat job at ten past three in the morning.

The production data makes the case plainly. Chat agents booked 1,689 jobs between 30 May and 26 July 2026, with work landing in every hour of the day. Of those bookings, 338 happened outside 7am to 8pm and another 394 landed at weekends.

A complete sale can now happen in one conversation: identify the pest and postcode, check the diary, price from the real list, explain the guarantee, book the technician and send payment. There is no form, callback or queue between the customer and a confirmed visit.

A wasp job quoted and closed end to end at ten past ten at night. This capture is a QA-harness rehearsal, not a real customer; genuine transcripts are never published.

06 Keeping it honest

The unglamorous half of putting AI in front of real customers.

A production agent is not a demo.

Every release runs through roughly thirty adversarial scenario suites covering jailbreaks, owner impersonation, invented promises, attempts to expose customer data and persistent haggling. An hourly critic checks real conversations against the documented rules, while test traffic is fenced off so a rehearsal cannot contact a real customer.

The controls extend beyond sales. A CV shortlister scores licences, right to work and experience, but its prompt expressly forbids nationality filtering. The system is designed to know what it may do, what it must never do and when a person needs to take over.

  • Adversarial scenarios run before every release
  • Hourly review of production conversations against documented rules
  • Test conversations isolated from real customer workflows
  • Human handover designed into pricing, service and safeguarding boundaries
INTERNAL TESTING · PRE-RELEASEAn internal testing page headed Claire, live chat test, with a banner asking staff to test the chat exactly as a customer would and the live agent embedded on the right.
The internal test backdrop. Staff run the embedded agent end to end as if they were customers and flag anything off before it ships.

The test was never whether AI can talk. It was whether it can quote a real price, book a real van and know when to hand over.
